The original Avatar was the biggest film of all time at the worldwide box office until Avengers broke its record: Endgame – sequel Avatar 2 movie will reclaim the record? Endgame Avatar, which managed to rule the global box office for a decade, With a gargantuan $1.798 billion haul. This means that All Eyes is on the next entry into the Avatar saga to see if it can replicate the record-breaking box office of its predecessor.
That second Avatar feature will be released theatrically on December 17, 2019. The script, written by James Cameron himself and Josh Freedman, will return to the directors’ chair. Plot descriptions on Avatar 2 are scarce, but it turns out that a tribe of Na’vi that live underwater will factor into the plot. It is also known that Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana and Stephen Lang, among others, will implode their roles from the original incarnation. Meanwhile, new cast members include the likes of Kate Winslet, David Thalis and Vin Diesel.
Although its cast can be set in stone, the box office fortunes of Avatar 2 are far less specific. Although Avatar 2 seems unlikely to become the biggest film of all time, this does not mean that all hope is lost to the franchise in this regard: the original can still reclaim that title.
Although Avatar 2 likely won’t beat Avengers’ worldwide box office race: Endgame, that doesn’t mean it won’t be a box office chariot in itself. Save for Piranha II: Spawning, each of James Cameron’s directorial efforts has been a box office hit. It is very likely Avatar 2 movie will continue this trend, especially when whatever new technological achievements Cameron has put together for this production, but with inevitable hype. To boot, the tentpole titles released in late December, like Aquaman, recent Star Wars films, and the last two Jens Cameron films, do notable business in this timeframe.
Even given all of those factors, however, it will be able to beat the latest trip to Pandora for $2.798 billion, will be ready to race Endgame worldwide. That miracle cinematic universe entry benefited from being the culmination of over a decade of storytelling. That generates the kind of once-in-a-lifetime hype that Four Further Avatar won’t be able to replicate in advance of the adventure. Also, thanks to titles like Black Adam and Rogue, Avatar 2 is opening up against stiffer competition than anything Endgame has ever faced. While those factors may put Avatar 2 out of the top spot in the worldwide box office charts, its predecessor appears to be assured of reclaiming its title of the most excellent film of all time worldwide.
Currently, only $7.4 million Avengers Separate: Endgame and Avatar on the worldwide box office charts. This is the minimum difference that the release of Avatar can again close a theatrical. One such incident is preceded by the release of Avatar on August 1, 2010, which managed to bring in an additional $45 million for Avatar’s worldwide box office run. Also, Jurassic Park was given a 3D theatrical re-release in 2013 before the 2015 Jurassic World. Given that, this should not be a problem in ZARA for another avatar re-release to generate the additional $7.4 million outgross required to outgrow the Endgame. Although Avatar 2 is such a challenge that it is unlikely the Outgross Avengers: Endgame, seems to be ready for its predecessor to emerge as the worldwide box office king once again.
