It’s been a time for the release of Avengers: Endgame, but the discussion around the film, its plot points, Easter Eggs doesn’t seem to stop. The film concludes the story of Infinity Saga or Infinity Stones that began in 2008 with Iron Man.
Director duo Russo Brothers and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige have been answering questions raised by eager fans for various media outlets. Wired conducted the latest round of Q&A.
Among the questions asked was why the Hulk’s hand did not heal itself when he used the Infinity Stones. The Hulk was a lot more polite than before, as Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) linked the two personalities together rather than vying for control.
When it came time to reverse Thanos’ picture, Hulk said that it had to be him. He uttered his fingers, and we later found out that he had done it. However, since the Infinity Stones are basically the essence of the universe, they also damaged their right hand.
Now, Hulk may have supernatural healing abilities; his hands may have been irreparably damaged. Joe Russo explains to Wired, “The Hulk has never come against every Infinity Stone in a gauntlet and the pure power of the stones. Thanos is almost unstoppable, and he didn’t even heal. So, when you Wield the full potential of Infinity Stone, it is irreparable damage to you.
The crazy titan also appeared to be entirely spent when the Avengers came to him to undo the damage early in the film. It is all but certain that Ruffalo will reprise the role in the future, as his character was not shown to exit the MCU in any way like Tony Stark or even Captain America. Will his hand be useless?
