The teaser of Chiranjeevi’s period drama Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy revealed on Tuesday afternoon that it was everything his fans had come to expect from it – a glimpse of breathtaking action sequences, production design from a bygone era and above all, one. Roaring Chiranjeevi as freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. For Telugu film lovers, the icing on the cake is the voice of Pawan Kalyan, Chiranjeevi’s brother or ‘power star’ as he is referred to by his fans.
For Agana, the teaser gives the idea that Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy referred to him as ‘the first rebel’ who roared like a lion and led a rebellion against the British East India Company. History has it that Narasimha Reddy led a peasant revolt in Kurnool in the 1840s, long before the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857.
The story of a forgotten freedom fighter is director Surendra Reddy and producer Ramcharan. This teaser promises an ambitious film like Bahubali. The teaser details the work of cinematographer Ratnavu, production designer Rajeevan Nambiar and stunt directors Greg Powell, Lee Whitaker, and Ram-Laxman.
According to industry circles, Sye Raa … is aiming to set a high bar for visual effects (monitored by RC Kamalakannan). The Telugu film features dialogue with costumes of Sai Madhav Burra, Anju Modi, Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita Konidela and Mothra Menon.
Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi on 2 October and will highlight well-known artists from across India – Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Vijay Sethupathi, Nayantara, Tamannaah Bhatia, Jagapathi Babu, and Brahmaji among many others.
