Marathi artists have taken steps to help the flood-affected people in Maharashtra, while MNS has started to bring Bollywood stars out of the blast for allegedly patting its victims on the flood victims.
“Lanat hai un par, jinke paas danat nahi hai…” MNS Chitrakoot army chief Ameya Khopkar said, ‘Shame on those who don’t have donations for help.
“They say that there should be no politics in a moment of crisis. But where are the Bollywood stars who say that Maharashtra is their karmabhoomi (workplace) in this challenging period?
Questioning the allegiance of Bollywood stars to the workplace, Mr. Khopkar alleged that he had failed to come forward to help Maharashtra despite making a fortune in the state.
Taking a jibe at the active actors on the social media site Instagram, they argued that they often posted videos and bytes to promote each other’s mediocre films, but appealed to help those affected by the flood Failed to post a single video for.
“It is up to one person what to do. But this time, the matter is serious. It is unfortunate to see how these stars portraying themselves as the Messiah on the big screen can forget their workplace.”
Also, the MNS leader commended Marathi artists, including the stage performers for participating in flood relief works.
Marathi stars in the entertainment industry came together and arranged to supply relief material systematically. Even backstage performers have given their hands to the practice, he said.
Meanwhile, actor Ritesh Deshmukh and his wife Genelia – an actress – donated 25 lakhs to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to help the flood-affected people. He handed over the check to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“Thank you, Ritesh and Genelia Deshmukh for #MaharashtraFloods for their contribution of 2,500,000 to #CMReliefFund! (Sic) “the Chief Minister tweeted.
It is noteworthy that Mr. Deshmukh is the son of late Vilasrao Deshmukh, former Chief Minister of Maharashtra.
Team India batsman Ajinkya Rahane also made a passionate appeal, saying that he would do something to help the flood victims.
Prayers to all the people affected by floods across the country. We will do everything we can to help them recover quickly,” he tweeted.
