With Thor: Love and Thunder seemingly casting Christian Bale, Beta Ray Bill begins trending online with people wanting Bale to take on the role. Beta Ray has trended online after Christian Bale was cast in Thor: Love and Thunder. While it was announced last year that Thor 4 was officially a go, Thor gets four films to make it the only character in the Marvel cinematic universe. Taiki Vetti is returning to direct the movie, with Chris Hemsworth returning as the titular character.
Thor made his comic book debut in 1962, while Beta Ray Bill did not appear after 20 years in 1943. Beta Ray Thor is a fan-favorite character from Comic Books, who was formerly an enemy of Thor. However, after being able to lift Mjolnir, Odin turns on the dwarves to create a Stormbreaker for Corbynite. A brief appearance in Thor, a sculpture of Beta Ray Bill: Ragnarok made on the Grandmaster’s Palace on the Saker, and of course, the weapon appeared in Stormbreaker Avengers: Infinity War. There have been rumors of Bill Ray making his MCU introduction, and it now looks like people are rallying for Bale to take the role.
Afterword broke that Bale might join Thor: Love and Thunder, speculation immediately began over which Thor character he could play. With the popularity of Bale and Beta Ray Bill, the actor started trending on Twitter. Some of the fan’s reactions can be seen below:
While Beta Ray may or may not appear in Bill Thor: Love and Thunder, there are several other characters confirmed for the film. Hemsworth is returning as mentioned above, as well as Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Vetti as Korg. It was also announced at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con that Natalie Portman would also be making a triumphant return to the MCU as female Thor.
Bale in Thor: Love and Thunder can be a significant step forward for miracles. Bale is not only familiar with the superhero genre, Christopher Nolan, through the Dark Knight trilogy, but he is also an Academy Award-winning actor. There is also a clear desire from fans for Bale to play Beta Ray, making that a reality too that could bring more people to the theater to watch the film. Thor: Love and Thunder will start filming this summer, so it may be a time before fans can confirm Bale’s Beta Ray Bill play.
