The Loki Disney Studios’ set photos from Marvel Studios will feature Lady Loki in the TV show. As one of the fan-favourite characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hiddleston’s Loki continues to cheat death in various ways. Though he died for real in Avengers: Infinity War, an alternate version of the god of mischief from 2012 is now under the control of Tesseract after a time travel mission in Avengers: Endgame.
This second edition of Loki is putting a Marvel studio at the centre of the upcoming Loki TV series. However, Marvel’s continued reliance on Loki has left many wondering whether other versions of the trickster could be introduced. The comics have made Loki return as a child and even become a woman, and there has been speculation that both may be in Loki. It was also reported that the cast member could play the female version of Sophia Di Martino Loki, but this was never confirmed.
Martino is seen wearing a Lady Loki suit thanks to a new set photo from Loki shared on Twitter by @BRMarvelNews. The mostly black suit with a touch of green resembles Loki’s dress from the Avengers, with circular gold accents a straightforward giveaway. Apart from the gender change, the most significant difference with Lady Loki’s appearance is Martino keeping her blonde hair and not matching Loki’s traditional seductive locks.
Loki first became a woman in the comics during Avengers: Different arc, but it happened as she stole the mean body for a Lady Sif. Although this change was reversed before Loki died in the siege story, he has changed his form on several occasions after being brought back from the dead. Now, it appears that Loki has somehow ascertained many looks for the trickster and Martino will play the female version of Loki. This would raise many questions about how Lady Loki factors into Loki, however, as she may be the result of Loki changing his appearance or a version of Loki from another alternate reality.
The apparent confirmation of Lady Loki being a part of Loki gives the series another layer of intrigue. Marvel Studios is set to feature several stunning elements from the comics on the Disney + show, and Lady Loki is just the latest example. They have already confirmed that the time variance authority will play a role, while rumours have pointed to Kang the winner, Squadron Supreme, and the transgender character Sera being included. Pairing to mix with Lady Loki, there is no telling what else Loki can offer to the MCU.
