Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has announced that actor Kit Harington has ridden the star-studded cast of The Eternals movie.
Harington is the second star from HBO’s epic fantasy show, Game of Thrones, which is set to make its Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut after fellow actor Richard Madden joined the film’s team earlier this year.
Madden is leading the cast, which also boasts Hollywood stars such as Angelina Jolie, Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanziani, Brian Tyre Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, and Barry Keoghan.
“We’ve gathered a huge cast for you… We pull back the cosmic curtain on the MCU in ways that you can’t imagine,” Feige said at the D23 Expo here on Saturday.
Created by Jack Kirby in 1976, The Story of Eternal has founded millions of years ago when celestials known as cosmic beings were genetically used to experiment on humans with super-powered individuals known as the Eternal Villains Deviants Is for making.
Regarding Harrington’s character, Feige stated that he is playing “non-eternal” Dan Whitman, who goes by the name of Black Knight in the comics.
Although Harington was not present at the event, the rest of the cast joined Feige on stage, standing in front of the concept art samples of their respective characters.
Madden is confirmed to portray the film’s lead, the all-powerful Ikaris, while Jolie will essay the role of the fierce warrior Thena. Hayek will be playing intelligent and spiritual leader Ajak.
Ridloff makes his first film as the first deaf hero in MCU. She will portray super fast Makkari. Nanjing will star as a cosmic powered Kingo.
Henry is cast as the intelligent inventor Phaistos; McHugh as The Eternals young, old soul sprite; Loner Drug isolated as Keoghan; And taken as the mighty Gilgamesh.
Feige also confirmed that Captain Marvel star Gemma Chan is set to begin her second innings at MCU with The Eternals. The actor will portray the role of human race lover Sersi.
A script by critically respected filmmakers Chloe Zhao Matthews and Ryan Firpo is attached to direct the film.
