Golden globes 2020 Laura Dern Recalls Being Miss Golden Globe in 1982: At the annual awards show on Sunday, the actress, 52 — who took home the Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in Shaadi Kahani — reflected on one of her early career highlights, as well as how “times have changed.”

In 1962, a 15-year-old Laura Dern served as Miss Golden Globe (now called a Golden Globe Ambassador), a position held by a child of Hollywood stars that presenters handed out trophies and escorted winners offstage during the show helps.

“I remember how easy it seemed, with my grandmother driving me to the Hilton in her gray Toyota Corolla, and I turned to the bathroom,” he told reporters after accepting his award. “I feel like there were eight of us here, so it’s very glamorous, which is also very funny.”

The daughter of actor Bruce Dern and Diane Ladd, Big Little Lies, grew up in the star industry — for which she is grateful.

He said, “There was something so beautiful about knowing this community at such a young age. Among the Golden Globe ambassadors who handed Dern his statue during Sunday night’s awards show were Pierce Brosnan’s sons, Dylan, 22, and Paris, 18.

Laura Dern won on Sunday for his turn as Hollywood divorce lawyer Nora Fanshaw in Netflix’s wedding story, written and directed by Noah Baumbach.

, Dern “My first time here, I was 14 years old, it’s a great honor to be with you again tonight.” “We give voice to the voiceless for service for a long time, and thanks to the talented Noah Baumbach, I just got that: give voice, pay tribute to the divorce lawyer.”

He quipped, saying it was “long, long overdue”.

In May 2014, Dern opened up about entering the acting business with two Hollywood parents, pursuing the camera over career, including his mother’s initial apprehension about his mother.

“I think my mother’s quote was, ‘Be a lawyer, be a doctor, be a leper missionary, but not be an actress!'” Dern told me that time on Sunday. But Dern still had her way and started talking to her well-connected friends sneaking around her mother’s back.

“I became quite smart and somewhat tactical — even sneaky — into a corner with an agent going to my mother’s birthday party and saying: ‘Do you let me come and read a monologue to you and tell me if you think I am a genius? And if I do that, will you send me out on auditions?” Dern remembered.

The actress said she was only 11 at the time, “so clearly I was crazy and inspired to do it.”

Since then, the mother-daughter duo has gone on to star together in several projects, including 1990’s Wild at Heart, 1991’s Tourism Rose, 2006’s Inland State, and the HBO series Enlightened. In 2010, the Hollywood Walk of Fame also honored a family of actors with three stars around.

The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony aired live on NBC from the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 5.
