In 2016, there was speculation about the on / off relationship between Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan. Fuel was added when they were spotted together in New York for a quick smoke. Post that, Mahira was trolled for smoking and wearing a short dress, Kapoor Lad asked her to return the trollers. Everything was going very well between the two until Alia Bhatt entered Ranbir’s life during Ayan Mukerji’s filming of Brahmastra in 2014.
Her Khil romance with RK Jr influenced Mahira, and by the end of 2014, she called it quits. However, many business tycoons had already set their eyes on Ranbir, and Mahira and the advertising world wanted to cash in on this fresh pairing.
A tycoon planning to launch his product in the Indian market approached Mahira and Ranbir to appear together for a detergent brand. The pair took time to think and even cleared them. So according to the plan, RK and Mahira were set to shoot for a commercial in mid-2014. Unfortunately, tycoons eager to cast them are shocked to learn that the couple has broken up before the unusual pair are shown on screen for the first time. And the launch was delayed, as Mahira asked for some time to go back to her zone, where Ranbir’s presence would not make any difference to her. The business tycoon agreed to it.
In December 2018, Mahira was finally okay working with RK as per his commitments, and the three decided to shoot a commercial in March 2019. However, in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack, the All India Cine Workers Association announced a complete ban on Pakistani actors, and once again, the product launch was banned.
The tycoon has finally settled on Mahira and told Ranbir Kapoor that he is the face of the soon-to-be-launched detergent powder face. A new model has given Mahira Khan a spot opposite Ranbir in the commercial, and the actor has shot for a few days of advertising at Bandra Mehboob Studio.
