Masahiro Sakurai has revealed that six more DLC characters are coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of a second Fighters Pass. Super Smash Bros. final fans who were disappointed by the character coming from the previous Fighters Pass Fire Emblem series should not be depressed for long, as Masahiro Sakurai revealed that six more characters are coming to an all-new fighters pass. Sakurai announced a new Loot Direct for January 16, which would announce the previous Fighters Pass character.
Fighters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate include some incredible characters, such as bringing in Joker from Persona 5, a selection of Dragon Quest Heroes, Terry from Deadly Fury, and Banjo-Kazooie from Darkness. It turns out that the fighters ended up with a deed, as the previous character is Byleth Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character is from Fire Emblem, a series already heavily represented in the game.
Not all of the world’s fire symbols are lost to haters, as Sakurai revealed during Loot Direct that a second fighters pass was on the way. Sakurai was initially intended for the first fighters pass to have only one or two more new DLC characters after five, but the second fighters pass will now have even more content, as it will consist of six characters.
The second Fighters Pass will be available for pre-purchase on January 28, and all characters are expected to be released by December 31, 2019. The characters will likely be released before then, given that Sakurai’s team managed to release six characters over a year. None of the characters from the other Fighters Pass have been announced, but Sakurai has confirmed that all of the characters have already been decided and that bugging him on Twitter won’t change the roster. Those who purchase other fighters close will receive a unique Mii Swordfighter costume that is based on ancient soldier gear from the legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
Fans of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate now have two more years of speculation ahead of them, and there are three characters from Devil May Cray, Doom and Super Mario Bros. that feel like strong prospects. Dante robbed from Devil May Rona was hinted at for direct, and there are many fans disappointed that the possibility that he has not picked up on another Fire Emblem representative. There have also been a lot of leaks about the Apocalypse Slayer and Gino for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, based on videos showing upcoming Mii costumes that may have been duped. It’s impossible to know for sure what Sakurai and his team have planned, but we can all guess at least the fun that the characters have chosen to appear in the future Super Smash Bros. Final.
