1. The First Flag of a Native American Commission
In 1777, a native of Thomas Green wanted to visit Philadelphia. However, there was no flag she could take on her journey, and she was worried she would not be safe. Green has decided that a flag is needed and sent a petition to Congress and offered to pay with three wampum strings. Fortunately, after ten days, on the 14th of June, the Congress flag responds with resolution, which we all know today as flag day.
2. 50-Star Flag
In Hawaii and Alaska became part of America in 1959, there was a need for a new design for the flag, and even a lot of people from all over the country took the challenge, the winner was a student from Ohio. Without ever making or designing a flag in his life, Robert Heft presented a design with 50 stars for a school project and received a B-his teacher because the time of the two states was not in the union. Heft and his teacher agreed that if the Congress were selecting their designs, the teacher would change the grade to one. When Congress had elected its flag outside of 1,500 submissions, Heft was given a one by her teacher.
3. 27 Version
As the United States was growing and the union was in the states, the flag changed a lot.
