Bond 25 will finally become a screen hit in April. This final outing for Daniel Craig after 14 years and five films. Everyone’s eyes are now on what comes next. Newcomers like Richard Madden, Jens Norton, and Sam Heughan have dominated speculation lately, but some of the established stars who are still on the run are not exempt. One of them is currently making a big comeback in the hurdles.
UK bookmakers BoyleSports just announced a flood of bets on Hardy, which has boosted its position.
A spokesman said: Tom Hardy would make a great Jens bond, and it is no surprise that we are seeing a significant increase in bets placed on him. She ticks all the boxes with producers, said a British and beautiful side.
It is fair to say that the criterion applies to most of the favorites, though Hardy certainly brings more muscle to the mix than most.
His odds have been halved from 20/1 to 10 / over the last few days in place of Daniel Craig.
McMafia and Grantchester star James Norton are still 13/8 favorites to become the next Bond despite slight drift from 11/8.
This is followed by Sam Hugon of Outlander on 4/1 and bodyguard and Game of Thrones star Richard Madden on 5/1.
Idris Elba also made a strong comeback in controversy on 11/2.
A few years ago it seemed to be a two-horse race between Elba and Hiddleston, which is still showing strong at 6/1
Dunkirk star Jack Lowden is still in the mix at 7/1. On 10/1, Tom Hardy is neck and neck with Michael Fassbender and Poldark star Aidan Turner.
Playing 007 has always been one of the biggest jobs in Hollywood. Still, it looks particularly exciting amid rumors that this current incarnation of the British secret agent may actually be killed off at the end of No Time to Die.
Which would also make it the most confusing film title in recent memory.
Recently there were significant claims in the UK press that James Norton had already landed the role.
The article stated that Norton’s friend had been discrete but not in a recent celebration, standing nearby, saying that he was the next James Bond.
The actor is currently showing his sensitive side on the big screen with Emma Watson and Timothee Chalamet in Greta Jarvis’s younger women as her profile continues to grow.
At 37 and a whip 6 ‘1, he fits the physical profile, and Craig bears more than a small resemblance to himself.
As always, every time there is a surge, there is speculation on a particular star, how flattering it is to accept the actor in question, but denial they are quick to know anything.
Norton has done just that.
Maybe Tom Hardy is still in with a chance after all …
