Catherine, Queen of Cambridge, has a beautiful relative way of her when she gets into a royal engagement, something that royal experts have compared to Queen Elizabeth and Princess Diana. For example, it is interesting to analyze Kate interactions with the public — particularly her approach to the Queen and Diana vs. her.
Fans are loving the way Kate interacts with the public
The way Kate has been so hot with the public is winning over fans in a big way. She shows an interest in kindness and everyone she encounters, something that is reminiscent of how Princess Diana works.
Diana earned the nickname “The People’s Princess” for a good cause – she was beautiful and made everyone else meet her and made a connection with the public, which was a departure from the more typical formal and suffocating demeanor that the royalty demonstrated.
Kate is clearly shown to have some of the same compassion and engagement with the people she meets, much in the same way that Princess Diana did, but yet the way the Queen differs from interactions with the public.
The way Kate follows in Diana’s footsteps
Broadcaster and journalist Anne Robinson shared some of this comparison about Kate, Queen, and Princess Diana in the 2013 Amazon Prime documentary Royalty Close: Kent Gayin’s Photography, when she shared: “Kate Middleton, Queen of Cambridge, it’s hard to call her Seems — but she has a legacy from Diana that her touch is very soft.
“She engages with the public in a way that the queen has never intended and never wanted, she has always kept her secrets and her distance,” she reported.
Royal photographer Kent Gayin handles the way Kate handles the media “genius” and explained how it’s the one thing that sets her apart from Diana: Faith.
Gein said, “He looks beautiful; he has all the qualities that Diana possessed.” Maybe more because he is very confident — Diana was not mean by those early days. “
Why Kate is more confident than Diana
This confidence may be the result of their age when they joined the royal family, as Diana was 19 when she and Prince Charles became engaged, and Kate was 29 when she and William were engaged.
Kate and William’s long relationship also primed the now Queen of Cambridge ahead of what would have been a royal life, where there was little warning of where Diana would marry Charles after she existed.
“Kate and William have had about ten years together, so there has been a long time for her to settle the idea that she will be Queen of England,” Robinson shared, adding, “I think she is just in time.” All that is allowed is to sink inside, while Diana was not.
Former royal press secretary Dicky Arbiter also pointed out that it was a “big difference” for Kate to headline in the family, as she said: “He knew what she was getting into. Diana once got engaged. Had to learn after.
He said, “Katherine grew up with William through university and has learned, in fact, through him.”
