The Premier League club is looking to bolster their squad with new additions in hopes that it will help them avoid relegation at the end of the season by Adding New Players.
In a bid to help them avoid relegation at the end of the 2019/20 Premier League season, Watford is considering a move to acquire Fulham left-back Joe Bryan. The Hornets have been scouting the 26-year-old on various occasions over the past two months. They view him as the player who could be their solution to their defensive woes and their injury-plagued club.
With a number of issues and problems continuously affecting Watford’s defence throughout the season, they will take all the help they can get. With Bryant, the club sees his addition to the club as a welcome defender who could, in theory, add depth to the squad. However, if Watford is to acquire him, it would come with a hefty price tag. Additionally, since his contract at Craven Cottage still in effect until the summer of 2022, it could further increase his signing cost.
Additionally, according to reports, the club is also interested in former Bolton and Juventus Defender Prince Gouano. Currently, he is playing in the French Ligue 1. However, Watford isn’t the only Premier League club interested in acquiring the player. Tagging along in the race to sign him are West Ham and Newcastle.

In the current season of the French top flight, Amiens SC, the club that Gouano is the captain of, sits in the 18th spot of Ligue 1. The season is halfway done and Amiens is still having a difficult time. It goes then without saying that ‘The Unicorns will be desperate to hold on to their skipper and centre-back during what is proving to be a testing transfer window in northern France’.
According to reports, three of the aforementioned Premier League clubs are interested in signing the Parisian-born defender as Adding New Players. Over the past few seasons, he emerged as a player with leadership capabilities both on and off the pitch at Amiens. At just 26 years old, the player has played for 11 clubs such as Juventus, Atlanta and the Bolton Wanderers following a short loan back in 2015. Five years after his short loan, a return to England could be in store for the former France youth star.
Gouano is a technically gifted centre-half with a 90 percent pass completion rate – something that, for a six-foot-two player, isn’t very common. He played in only a few games this season due to injuries. Regardless, this hasn’t affected how badly clubs from other leagues want him on their team. Gouano could potentially replace the injured Federico Fernandez for Newcastle whose contract will expire at the end of the season. West Ham and Watford are looking to make use of his defensive capabilities to add some depth to their team.
